Manfred Schreyer, a gifted professional photographer from Las Cruces, NM has published a spectacular book of photography, entitled The American Experience 2021.
Mr. Schreyer took these photos in 2021 during his extensive tour across the United States. In the process he interviewed dozens of people. His major objective was to explore the current sentiment of the American people. In that endeavor he succeeded.
The photos provide a spectacular insight into our country and its people and are a reflection of the diversity of America. The book contains outstanding photos each provided with a brief comment. This superb book of photography captures the soul and spirit of America during the harrowing year of the pandemic. We hold these truths to be self-evident. The Declaration of Independence states it. Somewhere truths have been hidden by images and words that we scroll through on a mini-computer in our hands.
Not many people venture out into the United States to see for themselves what truths are self-evident by talking to others, you know, having actual conversations.
This is what Manfred Schreyer has done. His work opens the doors wide to America and the varied beliefs among our diverse citizens. He does so without commentary, showing you in beautiful photographs the places off the beaten path and maybe outside our doors if we opened them to strangers.

In a world of “me, me, me” I was excited to witness the making of a tremendous project of capturing “us, you and we”. Manfred’s vision to capture the emotional climate of the USA during a global pandemic was not only brave, it gave so many home-bound people an opportunity to see behind the curtain and witness the country’s response and survival. No topic is off the table, whether it’s politics, religion, homelessness, and the survival of ideals or failed dreams. This time capsule of photos and the documentary created is a much-needed reminder of humanity, how the hands of time roll and change, and so many Americans are divided yet still search to be united. What will I do with the proceeds?
I produced endless film clips of interviews and real-life situations. I will use the funds to produce a movie that should eventually stream on one of the streaming services.

The last few day I contracted with ELITE CAR WRAP to wrap the van. I did an alignment, took countless measurements, bought supplies and ripped out the seats.
