A one year journey of Manfred (an international photojournalist) traveling by van across America in 2021 to capture and document in video, pics and blog the pulse of communities and issues that touch us. After the year is completed, I plan to place a film documentary on a streaming service to give us a glimpse of who we are as one Nation.

Roof Rack:
My last ‘action’ was to build a roof rack for the converted van. Ordinary factory clamps would not work, because it had a roof seam line. So I had to come up with a self-build invention. Luckily, I found these amazing clamps on Amazon, so I could proceed with the build.
I decided not to attach a standard ladder to the back of the van, because I wanted to minimize theft. I decided to use a 350lbs load rope ladder, which I simply attach to the rack if needed.

Pictured here is Dawn, who I got to know through IG. She is one of the many, many people, like Holly, Kerry, Rick, Natalie, and so many others who gave me advice, incredible contacts to visit and supported me along the way in preparing so far.
It is quite overwhelming for me to know there are so many people, who I can call my friends, and who truly care about me and this project.
Yes, the uncertainty of what awaits me on my 1st trip sometimes weighs on me. There are so many things to consider from safety to meeting the expectations and so many other things.
But I now know that I have all of you as my support group.
