A one year journey across America in 2021
A one year journey of Manfred (an international photojournalist) traveling by van across America in 2021 to capture and document in video, pics and blog the pulse of communities and issues that touch us. After the year is completed, I plan to place a film documentary on a streaming service to give us a glimpse of who we are as one Nation.

Hello my friends:
As I have settled back in after 3,500 miles on my second leg, I am finally getting ready to prepare for my final (and longest trip) starting by the middle of June. I will let you know more details in my next newsletter.
Many of you followed me on my Facebook page, and it was always good to hear from you during my last trip in your comments and posts. I always feel like you are riding beside me on my trips.
And . . . thank you for all the helpful advice, donations and directions.
All went well, besides the fact that one of my camera lenses broke (fortunately it is under warranty) and at the end of my trip I was completely exhausted. My head was literally spinning, because it was filled with so many experiences and memories.
I took thousands of pictures and endless videos for my documentary. As soon as I got home I was so very busy in organizing the pictures and video clips into folders and sub-folders. It is like a giant puzzle piece, but if I don’t do it immediately, I will never gain control of the “mess”
In the Fall of this year I plan to purchase a new laptop, because I know that my current laptop will not be stable enough for film editing.
Help!
If you are en expert, what components do you suggest in buying a laptop for film editing?
I am looking at :
32 GB RAM
Multicore i9
256 GB Hard Drive SSD
AMD or NVIDA Min 46 GB Graphic Card
I appreciate your help. Please contact me here >>
Memories:
This last trip offered a different variety of wonderful experiences for me and will show in the documentary project itself later on. One of the most amazing visits was my visit to Big Bend in Texas. If you have never been there, I highly suggest this marvel in our universe to each of you. It is astounding during daytime, but even more amazing during nighttime when you are able to observe the sky with almost no artificial light in that region and the sky opens up in completely different dimension.
I will post pics of my excursions by the end of the year hopefully in a local gallery exhibit.
I undertook some social experiments on my journey (acted homeless in a wealthy part of Dallas,TX), I saw the finger of John the Baptist, abandoned historical buildings, and so much more.
One of the funniest interviews I took at the San Antonio Mission with a believer in the Christian faith:
I wish I could show you all the film and pics I took, but you have to wait until the beginning of next year.
Thank you for everything and I’ll be in touch soon.
Manfred
